Our Favorites: Common Core and ELLs Classroom Video from Albuquerque

We've been hearing recently about the popularity of Common Core classroom video, particularly featuring English language learners (ELLs) of varying ages and proficiency levels, and wanted to remind you of our classroom videos and lesson plans for grades 1, 4, and 8 from Albuquerque, New Mexico. These modules feature teachers who participated in the American Federation of Teachers' Innovation Fund project, working through their local union and in collaboration with Diane August.

Topics covered include asking higher-level questions, using evidence from the text, comparing and contrasting two texts, and writing conventions.  Additional related resources are included in our Common Core and ELLs resource section.

As we add new articles, resources, and videos, we’ll be sure to let you know. And for secondary Common Core videos, also be sure to look at the classroom series on our sister site, AdLit.org.
