Education Week
The second round of states — 26 plus the District of Columbia — that applied to the U.S. Department of Education for wiggle room from the No Child Left Behind law got feedback on their requests in a round of letters sent April 17. The new Common Core State Standards were a primary focus of the feedback, and many of the states were asked to spell out how they would make the standards accessible for English-language learners and students in special education.
