Academy for Educational Development (AED)

Since its founding in 1961, AED has worked to improve decision making for educational reform and workforce development in the United States. The organization works at all levels of the education system, focusing on teacher preparation and student achievement. Programs support children with disabilities, Migrant Head Start, high-school and middle-school reform, youth engagement, and access to higher education.

Annie E. Casey Foundation

Working with neighborhoods and state and local governments, the Foundation provides grants to public and nonprofit organizations to strengthen the support services, social networks, physical infrastructure, employment, self-determination, and economic vitality of distressed communities. One of several initiatives includes supporting comprehensive education reform in the states: for example, school/community partnerships; school-based accountability; and smaller class size.

Bridges 4 Kids

Bridges 4 Kids is a non-profit parent organization providing a comprehensive system of information and referrals for parents and professionals working with children from birth through transition to adult life. The organization provides a circle of support for ALL children, with a special focus on those who have disabilities, special needs, or who are at-risk.

Bridging Refugee Youth and Children's Services (BRYCS)

Provides technical assistance to service providers working with refugee children and their families in the U.S.

California Healthy Kids Resource Center (CHKRC)

The California Healthy Kids Resource Center (CHKRC) maintains a comprehensive collection of health education materials for professionals who work with preschool through 12th grade students in school settings and after-school programs.

Capitol Region Education Council (CT)

CREC began as a grassroots organization of local school districts in Connecticut working together to solve common problems. Its mission is to work with boards of education of the Capitol Region to improve the quality of public education for all learners.

Center for Talented Youth

Since 1979, the Center for Talented Youth (CTY) at Johns Hopkins University has focused on the needs of students with exceptionally high academic abilities. CTY offers gifted students, and their families and schools as well, a wide range of programs and services to nurture their intellectual abilities, enhance personal development, and foster better understanding of the needs of talented youth.

Community Network for Youth Development (CNYD)

Connect For Kids

Connect for Kids, an award-winning multimedia project of the Benton foundation, helps adults make their communities better places for families and children. Corporation for National and Community Service

The Corporation is the nation's largest grantmaker supporting service and volunteering. Through the Senior Corps, AmeriCorps, and Learn and Serve America programs, the Corporation provides opportunities for Americans of all ages and backgrounds to express their patriotism while addressing critical community needs.

D.C. Language Access Coalition

The D.C. Language Access Coalition's (Coalition) goal is to ensure that DC residents and workers who are limited English proficient (LEP) or non-English proficient (NEP) have equal access to the most essential government benefits and services including food stamps, Medicaid, health care, unemployment benefits, job training programs, public education, fire and emergency services, the police department and mental health services.

The Logan Square Neighborhood Association is a nationally recognized model of successful collaboration between a community organization and public schools, creating a community-centered school that serves immigrant families.

Maryland Vietnamese Mutual Association (MVMA)

MVMA works out of Silver Spring, Maryland and provides services such as Vietnamese-English translation, naturalization, family reunion and employment. MVMA promotes the active participation of Asian Americans in the community and civic affairs at all levels. National Asian American Pacific Islander Mental Health Association

The NCY, a 30-year old affinity group, is a coalition of the National Assembly member organizations that have a significant interest in youth development. Parent-Child Home Program

The Parent-Child Home Program (formerly the Mother-Child Home Program) is a proven, innovative home-based literacy and parenting program serving families challenged by poverty, low-levels of education, language barriers and other obstacles to educational success.

Reach Out and Read

Reach Out and Read is a national program that seeks to make early literacy an integral part of pediatric primary care. Pediatricians encourage parents to read aloud to their young children and give books to their patients to take home at all pediatric check-ups from six months to five years of age. Parents learn that reading aloud is the most important thing they can do to help their children love books and to start school ready to learn.

Search Institute is an independent nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide leadership, knowledge, and resources to promote healthy children, youth, and communities. Senior Corps

Southeast Asia Resource Action Center (SEARAC)

Southwest Youth Collaborative (SWYC)

The Southwest Youth Collaborative (SWYC) is a community-based network of youth and community development organizations working together in five diverse neighborhoods on the southwest side of Chicago. Our programs work to build self-esteem, personal and social growth, cooperation, leadership, cross-cultural understanding, and community awareness among our participants.

Student Coalition for Action in Literacy Education

SCALE supports campus-based literacy programs across the country. In these programs, college students serve as literacy tutors or teachers in their community.

Vietnamese American Civics Association (VACA)

Founded in 1984 as a Mutual Assistance Association (MAA), VACA provided an array of services designed to help Vietnamese refuges and immigrants to address daily living needs, successfully adjust to a new country, culture and language and achieve economic self-sufficiency. Services offered by VACA include: naturalization assistance, ESL, employment services, social services and health education.
