What I Would Say to Young Sonia

What would I say to young Sonia now? I guess I would say, “Never, ever be ashamed. Be proud of who you are. You have a great life ahead and cherish that. Cherish who you are, who your parents were, how much they did for you without understanding what it was like to go to college or why that was important and yet believing in us always, always.” I would say, “Have big dreams,” which I always have. I've always had big dreams. I would say when I walk around my neighborhood, a child in one of the homes has a little poster out that says, "Love always wins." I would say, "Love always wins. It's what we're here for and we need to manifest it in as many ways as we can, whether it is with family, with the people who we serve in any way that we can to be helpful, to fight for what's right and carry that with you.”
