The pressure is enormous to speak English, not only to speak English, but while you're learning English to forget or drop your native language. And I can understand that pressure, but I don't condone it. I don't support it. I think it's really important for children to be able to maintain a relationship with their parents through the language of their parents because I've heard so many sad stories of parents who lose communication because of that and certainly with their grandparents or when parents only speak their native language when they're trying to hide something from their kids because they're not teaching their kids their native language and that's not to blame parents. Again, as I said, the pressure is enormous to drop the native language. We lose so much in the process.
