In addition to being the English language learner teacher, I serve basically as a resource for my families. A lot of times, I will be just beginning a regular school day, like every other teacher teaching at eight o'clock, and then I will get a panicked form of communication from a parent that they can't find their child's official copy of the birth certificate and they need that to renew their passport so they can go back home. So, I will be in the office running down a copy of that to help them do that. I make doctor’s appointments a lot.  So, anything from helping them figure out where they need to go pay their land taxes to getting them into a doctor, to helping them understand the shots that their child needs before the next school year begins. All of those are part of my job description and the things that I do.
